Galerie Jeanne Bucher opened the first exhibition of Daniel Brustlein’s work in Paris on June 10, 1952. Although the artist had exhibited extensively in group settings prior, the exhibition at Jeanne Bucher marked a defining moment in the artists life as a painter. Brustlein’s first exhibition in New York would follow in October of 1955 at the legendary Stable Gallery.
Brustlein was noted for his unique combination of the aesthetics of the School of Paris with the gestural style of New York School of abstract Expressionism.
